Staff Accountant - Classified Ventures Job in Chicago 60604, Illinois US
The Corporate Finance group is looking for a staff accountant to perform accounting and reporting functions along with other finance related tasks.
Responsibilities The responsibilities of the Staff Accountant include, but are not limited to: Monthly close responsibilities Prepare monthly journal entries and other month-end close activities Manage all treasury functions and maintain bank relationships Prepare weekly cash projections Prepare G/L account reconciliations on a monthly basis Prepare various financial packages for review by senior management Assist with year-end and annual audit Assist with fixed asset accounting and process improvements Perform ad hoc reports and analysis Other responsibilities Assist with annual budget and bi-annual forecasts Participate in internal control process evaluation Assist in financial system enhancements Special projects as needed Required Experience The ideal candidate will be team oriented and will have the following attributes: Bachelors degree required in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus 3-5 years work experience preferred Strong communication/organization skills Detail oriented Ability to multi-task in a deadline oriented environment PeopleSoft experience a plus in addition to a strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
