JOB DESCRIPTIONThe Sustaining Engineer will be the technical support software development engineer between the development team, support team and the customers.
Duties include working with Development team, Support team, and Customers on software issues, product issues and systems issues.
Dealing with technical issues like crash dumps, client piece connecting to server piece, API hooking, systems crashes and coding issues with code presenting issues with clients products usage.The right person needs to come from a programming background but also be able to speak with customers and other people ranging from technical to non-technical engineers.
Good communication skills needed.
The ability to be able to transform technical issues into words the every day person can understand is key to the success of this position.
The right person needs to be strong with the following technical skills: - Windows and .NET technologies (C#)- Perl - Java and Linux technologies- Linux shell scripting and scripting within the Linux OS- Strong networking background- Server-side programming- Win32 and APIs- Active Directory and LDAP- Windows and Linux network stacks- Dealing with customer issues like Windows crash dumps or systems crashes, the client piece cant connect to the server piece, etc Please email your resume as an attachment in Microsoft Word format to Derek King at dking [at] mri-boston [dot] com
