Major Focus of Position: Perform materials engineering design and analysis for materials used in the commercial nuclear industry such as uranium dioxide, high temperature nickel-based alloys, zirconium alloys, and stainless and pressure vessel steels.

Develop advanced materials for use in future reactor applications.

Required Skills: *Must be able to apply advanced materials engineering principles and techniques to assist in the investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of operational problem resolution to technical and non-technical managers, customers, and regulators.

*Must be able to quantify and qualify engineering opinions and judgment with calculations and supporting industry experience.

*Expected to verify engineering work of, and provide technical guidance, training, and direction to others at equivalent or lesser levels and communicate to all necessary parities the nature and status of work/projects; identify and communicate product/service improvements to management.

*Propose and initiate test programs as needed and evaluate results.

*Prepare technical descriptions/sections, including cost benefit studies, for proposals and various documents.

*Act as Primary Investigator on minor company-sponsored R&D programs.

*Identify and assist in development of new business opportunities.
