Sr. Software Engineer Job in Danvers 01923, Massachusetts US
We are currently recruiting for the following position to be located at our office in Danvers, Massachusetts.
Summary: The High Speed Encryption Software Engineering group at SafeNet, develops sophisticated software control plane, high-speed data plane, and networking services for the High Speed Encryption product lines; utilizing state of the art multi-core processors.
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join a seasoned team developing the next generation of high-speed NAS encryption products involving kernel and user-level components.
We are looking for a hands-on, talented, innovative and practical individual with experience to design and implement product components on a predictable schedule.
Additional responsibilities include participation in and contribution to software design reviews, writing design specifications, and work with the integration team to develop test plans.
Skills Overview: The ideal candidate will have experience in embedded systems, working knowledge of several networking protocols, operating systems or device driver development and must be comfortable in a lab debug environment.
The candidate must demonstrate flexibility, strong motivation and a proven record of meeting aggressive deadlines as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
The individual must have proven abilities to solve critical system software problems.
Sound working knowledge of memory management, inter-process communication, synchronization, strong software and hardware debugging skills (eg GDB, KGDB, JTAG probes) is expected.
Qualification Requirements: Citizenship: Must be a US citizen.
Education: Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent, advanced degree desirableExperience: 5+ years of embedded software development experience Skills:
Proven experience in large complex software/hardware developments, several years of embedded development
Expert in C but capable of C++ (or learning it)
Several years experience using embedded Linux (kernel and user levels) or like RTOS
Several years experience utilizing pthreads, understands and uses IPC and synchronization methods
Understands and have successfully utilized OO approach on one or more large software and hardware projects
Understands basic networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, ARP, and ICMP.
Significant working experience with the following protocols: NFS and CIFS
Working experience with one or more of the following protocols: HTTP, TFTP, and FTP.
Several years experience with integrating complex software onto complex hardwareEssential Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Understanding of network security protocols and algorithms (eg HAIPE, IPSec, SSL, encryption, etc)
High speed data communication product design (10Gb and higher)
Control plane implementation for high speed products
Multi-core and parallel processing
File server, NAS domain
NAS proxy and encryption
IP layer protocols
Ethernet experience
Shell, Tcl, and perl scripting
GDB and other debug tools
Linux kernel building, rolling custom kernels, and bootloading implementation
VMware
