Sr. Packaging Engineer - Quaker Foods & Snacks Job Job in Barrington, Illinois US
Description-Identify and implement packaging opportunities with existing and new technologies for applications across QFS portfolio.
Provide fresh perspectives, creative ideas, and practical solutions.
-Collaborate with R&D, BU, Global Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality to provide technical leadership to identify and implement packaging projects that ensure quality standards, consumer and customer needs, machinability, package performance, and continued supply of packaging materials.
-Design and coordinate laboratory and plant tests to assess technical feasibility in the qualification of packages, materials and vendors.
Collect test data, interpret results, formulate conclusions and communicate recommendations to influence business decisions.
-Take broad leadership roles on projects.
Positively influence at all levels within and outside the organization to promote effective working relationships in support of the team's objectives.
Work directly with other functions to establish and manage priorities.
Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: BS Engineering degree (Packaging, Chemical, Mechanical)-10 years of success in package development in the food and beverage industry-Strong project management and organizational skills, demonstrated technical problem solving ability, and clear/effective verbal and written communication.
-Able to manage multiple projects and changing priorities, and to effectively negotiate project requests and priorities to optimize resource utilization.
-Proven interpersonal skills to positively affect results of cross-functional and internal teams.
-Highly motivated and efficient to drive measurable results.
-Exposure to a wide variety of packaging materials, particularly paperboard and flexible films, and related testing methodologies.
Able to apply statistical methods in the design of test plans and in data analysis.
-Broad understanding of product/package interactions, food processing, quality, and packaging machinery.
