Sr. Network Engineer Job in Boston, Massachusetts US
General Description and FunctionThe Engineer will work closely with account executives and all levels of personnel and management within our client.
The ideal candidate should also possess the ability to design and architect customer solutions.
The candidate should be technically an expert in these technology areas of focus - voice and routing/switching.
You may be required to lead an implementation and deployment.
Within your client region you are viewed as the go to networking person and you are engaged whenever an opportunity requires your area of expertise.
This position is expected to participate in client and prospect meetings as technical sales support and must be able to communicate with both technical and business audiences.
RequirementsMust be an expert with Cisco applications, services, hardware, and networking solutions.
Individuals should have 5-10 years of engineering experience, preferably in the information technology market place.
This position will require travel.
Technical Skills and QualificationsBachelors degree or equivalent experience (8+ years relevant experience); CCIE is desired.
(written exam and lab); LAN & WAN and IP Telephony, network design, configuration, and installation experience; Experience working on Routers/Switches, firewalls, IP/VPN networking, VoIP, wireless architectures and protocols, unified messaging and unified communications.
Ability to develop complete end-to-end network architectures that encompasses LAN/WAN.
Knowledge of security issues and solution development desired; strong verbal, written, presentation and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with various levels of customers and internal personnel for all aspects of the market and products.
Must also be a team player and work effectively on tight deadlines.
