Sr. Manager, Nutrition Insights Job Job in Chicago, Illinois US
Description- Provide consumer-based strategic thought leadership to Grains-co organization, by defining and executing a consumer learning agenda that builds on & translates from the Pepsico Nutri-Co vision- Along with senior business & marketing management, define the most relevant and differentiated consumer framework (aka the 6Ws of Snacks/Beverages) that will guide consumer thinking & strategy for the future, and be the ongoing champion of the framework, developing and evolving it as needed over a period of time.
- Be the source of consumer based inspiration & facts for senior leaders during key decision making Pepsico processes, especially IGP and AOP.- Work closely with marketing & technology/R&D teams to shape the thinking & development of innovation and new platforms.
- Be the single point of contact for Country Insights leaders to leverage the knowledge base on Grains & Nutri-Co to leverage in their local markets- Be a business-model insights partner to senior management, and not just a marketing thinker, to enable setting up of new businesses that are incremental to Pepsico's Fun-Co.
- Synthesize disparate consumer & market sources of information (consumer, shopper, market, customer, etc).
from across the globe towards meaningful global & local insights that lead to opportunities for Pepsico to develop businesses/propositions against- Identify knowledge gaps that exist in the Pepsico system (in Nutri-Co & specifically Grains-Co), and develop a learning plan that fills these gaps in a time-efficient manner- Deliver sound and timely consumer & market understanding of the (changing) consumers on an on-going basis, with actionable recommendations- Work closely with Local country insights leaders to get to a locally relevant yet common understanding on Grains & Nutri-Co to ensure complementary work (avoiding duplication) & leveraging local knowledge/expertise.
- Invest time in developing/searching for insights tools & agencies that can provide new, forward-looking, differentiated insights that will provide competitive advantage to Pepsico in the world of nutrition & grains.
- Invest in setting up insights/research processes that institutionalize insights & information from the different sources & enables ongoing flow through into Grains-Co HQ in Chicago- Manage third party suppliers & agency to design, implement & analyzie high quality & impactful multi-country ad-hoc research studies in a timely and cost effective mannerRequirements: - 8-12 years experience with consumer packaged goods or retail organization in a consumer research, customer research or category management capacity- exposure or bent of mind to be able to appreciate and synthesize different cultural/country nuances & integrate them into holistic thinking- BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree preferred.
- Proficient in designing, conducting, and interpreting primary research.
- Strong knowledge of IRI/Nielsen syndicated and panel data required for this position.
Experience with customer POS/shopper card databases desired.
- Strong presentation and communication skills; needs to be comfortable presenting complex ideas simply and effectively to high level internal constituents- Excellent project management skills with the ability to work effectively in a matrix organization.
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and heavy Powerpoint emphasis
