Sr. Litigation Attorney Job in Baltimore, Maryland US
1st Choice is seeks a Sr. Litigation Attorney for a local public school system.
This is a 60-90 day contract.
The candidate chosen for this position must be a seasoned Litigator experienced in Civil and Municipal Law for Baltimore City.
The ideal candidate will possess stellar listening, presentation and administrative writing skills.
This position reports directly to the Chief Legal Counsel.
Duties: Conclude cases by bringing cases to settlement or trial; planning, organizing, and presenting arguments and counter-arguments; Maintain rapport with clients by making regular contact with clients; satisfying client needs; Prepare cases for litigation by filing lawsuits; evaluating cases; completing discovery; Provide clients with legal advice by conducting and directing legal research; updating clients regarding case developments; explaining legal concepts to clients; Accomplish work requirements by assigning cases, and providing legal guidance, to legal assistants; monitoring case progress; Meet cost standards by monitoring expenses and recommending cost-saving opportunities; Update professional knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
Requirements: Maryland Bar Certification.At least 5 years practicing law in Baltimore City.
