Business Week, March 2008Primary Purpose: The Senior Designer Jewelry will work with the Design Director to initiate concepts each season that are fashion driven and reflective of the creative vision.

You will be a part of a dynamic, creative environment where you will collaborate with talented designers and cross-functional partners in the business.

Reports to the Design Director.

The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Jewelry Design to.Based on Merchandising line plan, assemble tear sheets and initial sketches to jump start design process with Design Director.

Draw big ideas for new collections.

Create sketches and product prototypes throughout the conceptual design process.

Create presentation boards for each collection; update as collection evolves.

Partner with creative team to refine seasonal concept, materials, hardware, and color palette for jewelry collections.

Responsible for timeline adherence; ensure all design cards are completed accurately and delivered to Product Development on time; ensure all prototypes are available for product presentation and finalization.

Responsible for upholding design integrity, high quality execution, and timeliness through the entire development process from concept through engineering and commercialization.

Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising and Product Development partners throughout the process to maximize salability, drive the product and process forward, ensure accuracy of official artwork, troubleshoot issues, and eliminate process roadblocks.

Participate in regular design review meetings with cross-functional category partners.

Liaise with vendors in product development process to ensure samples are progressing on track.

Ensure the coordination of raw materials including models, waxes, stones, findings, and sourcing.

Mentor and develop design associates and assistants.

The accomplished individual will possess.

Strong fashion sense and have the ability to interpret trends.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse group at all levels.

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-up.An outstanding professional will have.

7-8 years of jewelry design experience.

Bachelors Degree in Design or related field.

Ability to sketch both technical drawings and freeform renderings.

Experience developing product directly with factories; understanding of development from concept through engineering, required.

Strong understanding of materials.

Experience working with cross-functional teams.

Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel.
