The Solution engineer for Information Acquisition –develops and implements systems to meet the information acquisition needs of the business intelligence systems, Decision Support systems and other Reporting systems.

He/she will work with both functional and technical project personnel, has in-depth knowledge of BI data acquisition methodology.

Other key activities includes; resolution of issues with existing systems; and providing technical guidance to other team members.

The Solution Engineer – Information Acquisition is capable of supporting all in scope activities.

The solution engineer will assist BI interdependent to ensure project successExperience RequiredBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in an Information Technology or Business Systems related discipline.

5 plus years experience in information systems applications, data warehouses and decision support systems, preferably in regulated medical device industry.

5 plus year experience in leading the development of Business Information strategies using SAP BW.Exposure to large projects, following project management methodologies and supervising project team staff, including consultants.The person should have worked with SAP, BPCS or any large ERP Implementations.

Should have in-depth knowledge of complex BI applications and should have good understanding of the following technologies, SAP BW/BI, Business Objects Data Integrator, Informatica or similar ETL tools; prefer also has SQL server BI related experiences.

Implement Business Warehouse (BW) data acquisition solutions using SAP BI business content extractors, custom extractors.

Expertise in process chains, and delta management is a mustResearch complex data issues with business colleagues; examine data in various source systems (SAP and non-SAP) for inconsistencies, review transformation logic and propose corrective alternatives.

Formulate information architecture framework and design principles with the BI solution engineering team.

  Ensure adherence to these on projectsExperience with flat file, SAP, and other non-SAP data sources is critical.

Possess the ability to balance short-term business needs and deliverables with long term design implicationsAbility to manage timeline Strong verbal and written communication skillsQuick Grasping of Business Functions, Processes and TerminologyExperience in systems analysis, ie. Understanding user requirements and implementing systems to meet the requirements.

Solid Understanding of Relational Modeling with extensive focus on Dimensional Modeling PrinciplesKnowledge and experience with DW logical modeling Star Schema, Fact, Dimension, Snow-flak, Lookup, Staging, cube.

In-depth understanding of SAP BW architectureExperience with batch scheduling tools across a complex data flow environment.Two years experience in supervising and/or managing a staff is preferred; the staff includes both on-site and global virtual team members.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to adapt to challenges and to mentor team members Strong communications skills both orally and written.

Ability to write reports, procedure manuals and correspondence.

  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Ability to handle several assignments simultaneously.

Sound understanding of the business activities and objectives.
