Solar PV Design Engineer Job in Raleigh, North Carolina US
My client is looking for a Solar PV Design Engineer.
This person will be responsible taking a solar project from cradle to grave, while directing project engineers and managers through the duration of the project.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Works closely as required with Project Engineers and Project Managers;- Works closely with potential clients to answer solar PV questions;- Conducts residential solar site assessments;- Designs residential solar systems using AutoCAD and PV WATTS;- Prepares residential cost estimates using Vision InfoSoft EBM 3000;- Prepares solar PV system proposals;- Coordinates electrical inspections and system commissioning;- Prepares residential project bills of materials;- Prepares O & M manuals;- Works with engineers, architects, general contractors, owners, electrical inspectors and utility engineers effectively and in a professional manner.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 1-3 years of work experience as a Design Engineer;- 1+ years of PV experience;- NABCEP Entry Level Certificate of Knowledge or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire;- Knowledge of the NEC Code and electrical contracting;- Proficient with Auto CAD, cost estimating software, Windows XP, Microsoft Office;- 4 year BS Engineering degree (mechanical/electrical) preferred;- Disciplined, self-motivated work style;- Desire to stay on the leading edge of the renewable energy industry;- Strong work ethic, self motivation, organization and a can-do attitude;- Team player who listens, and actively communicates;- Visual thinker good at problem solving and implementing ideas;- Valid driver's license.
