S National Data Center Phase 4 Program support contractor.
Responsible for performing complex tasks involving computerized databases, database definition, structure, documentation, long range requirements, operational guidelines, and maintenance.
Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools.
Data contains information pertaining to one or more business areas of interest to the end user.
Responsible for optimizing the performance of the database when queries are requested, which involves administering tools to perform data mining functions and to process the data within the database.
Creating, debugging, and optimizing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and triggers.
Utilizing relational Oracle 10 and SQL Server database technology in a DBA capacity Unix Shell scripting, command line logic across multiple operating systems.
Developing and delivering data warehouse and business intelligence solutions.
Oracle database tuning coupled with data analysis.
Works on complex problems.
Acts as advisor to a unit or sub-unit and becomes actively involved as required to meet schedules or resolve problems.
May provide guidance to less experienced engineering personnel.
May serve in a lead role and train others.
Education: Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Geophysics or related technical field.
Work Experience & Background: 5+ years of related experience.
Programming experience in: Java, C/C++, Perl, HTML, JavaScript, Lisp (Scheme), SH/CSH, Fortran 77/95, Unix, Unix Make Utility, ASM, Motiff/X11, Oracle PL/SQL, YACC, BEA Tuxedo, Oracle Advanced Queuing, Sun Solaris 10, Sun Studio 12 and UML (Rational Rose) along with appropriate technical credentials (education or certifications).
Required skills: Oracle 10g administrative experienceMastery of Oracle SQL dialect and PlSQLPerformance tuning experience for large data setsFormalized design methodologiesDesired Skills: Experience in 24/7 operations.
