Software Engineer – Web Application Developer (229) Job in Cambridge
DescriptionReporting to a Group Manager within our Server Development team, the selected candidate will contribute to the development of critical business management tools, working closely with a User Experience Engineer and Product Management as well as stakeholders and other team members.
This position focuses on the user facing portions of our web applications but will also be involved in the complete software development life cycle.
CIDCs software engineers contribute to software design, implementation and unit testing, integration, and system testing.
In addition, CIDCs software engineers support product marketing and QA functions.
CIDCs software engineers apply their software expertise to implement, maintain and extend dynamic web applications for on-line gaming and Internet marketing, develop and maintain a number of support and data analysis scripts, expand automated testing capabilities, and provide product maintenance.
Required SkillsAt least 2 years experience and: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and organizational skills, demonstrable teamwork skills.
Self starter that is process centric, standards and best practices driven.
Proven ability to design attractive, intuitive user interfaces independently or in cooperation with usability and design teamsRequired ExperienceAt least 2 years experience with: Perl in Unix/Linux environment Building standards compliant web interfaces including cross-browser testing and the use of JavaScript librariesDevelopment of web applications involving perl, Apache web servers, HTML, CSS, AJAX and DBI/ORM tools in a production, customer facing environmentMason (preferred), Template Toolkit or similar templating system Experience with financial applications, Internationalization and Localization a plusWorking knowledge of Rose, Catalyst or similar MVC framework a plus
