DescriptionThis newly created position has primary responsibility for accounting for income taxes including, but not limited to, the preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual effective tax rates, income tax provision calculations, and income tax footnote disclosures; the analysis of FASB accounting pronouncements and interpretations and the resultant consequences on the Company’s income tax provision and deferred tax assets and liabilities.
The position is also responsible for: Interfacing with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to obtain the data necessary to determine the annual forecasted effective tax rate to be used in quarterly effective tax rate calculations.
Preparing supporting tax work papers and tax footnote disclosures for Quarterly and Annual SEC filings.
Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation requirements as they relate to internal controls over accounting for income taxes.
Manage federal and state income tax audits and prepare responses to information document requests.
Manage annual reviews in support of the Company’s research and development tax credits.
Interface with Financial Planning and Analysis to accumulate information with respect to qualified research and developments projects and corroborating evidence in support thereof.
Interact with leaders cross-functionally to provide advice and support including chief executive officers, business development, legal, government affairs, technical operations, human resources, research and development, treasury, and other departments within the financial groupResearch federal, state, and international tax statutes and regulations including proposed legislation that may have current or future impact on Company.
Orchestrate the planning and implementation of the effects of any and all tax legislation impacting the Company’s operations.
Coordinate, oversee and manage any all tax projects outsourced to external consultants and tax providers.
Conduct annual income tax accounting methods reviews.
Assist with M&A due diligence and integration.
Maintain solid working relationships with third party service providers.
Required SkillsExceptional working knowledge and practical experience with FAS 109, Accounting for Income Taxes, FIN 48 (Accounting for Uncertain Tax Positions), FAS 123(R) Stock Based Compensation, etc.Extensive knowledge and practical experience with federal, state and international tax laws in a multi-state and multinational environment.
Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
