Senior Tax Associate Job in San Diego 92122, California US
This position will report to the Corporate Tax Manager and have the following responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: - Work with outside service provider to ensure the accurate and timely completion of consolidated federal and multistate income tax returns.
- Prepare and maintain certain federal book to tax differences for tax provision and tax return reporting- Prepare research and analysis of business issues related to tax- Assist with tax planning where tax laws and the business provide opportunities for tax reduction - Respond to tax notices from various tax authorities; assist with tax audits.
- On an as needed basis, interact with outside tax advisors and finance team overseas on statutory account reporting, foreign income tax compliance, consumption tax compliance, and tax audits- Assist with the coordination and analysis of the research and development tax credits and related studies- Assist as needed with the preparation of quarterly/annual worldwide SFAS 109 tax provision - Assist with FAS123R tax accounting analysis- Assist with portions of SOX 404 internal control requirements- Assist with other projects as assignedRequirements: - 3 or more years of industry or public accounting experience in corporate tax - Experience in federal income tax compliance - Some international tax experience preferred - Experience with FAS109 - Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field and experience - CPA or Masters in Taxation preferredSkills and Abilities: - Works accurately with attention to detail - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Ability to meet tight time deadlines - Ability to interact with all levels of the organization - Ability to work in a team environment - Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
