Senior System Administrator Job in North Little Rock, Arkansas US
Responsibilities for this role include performing the following duties: Installing and supporting new server hardware and software infrastructureEnsuring that hardware and software systems are maintainedAllocating network resourcesProviding technical support to users with very different levels of IT knowledge and competenceEnsuring the most cost effective and efficient use of resourcesSuggesting and providing IT solutions to business and management problemsEnsuring that all IT equipment complies with industry standardsTroubleshooting ranging from critical system outages to forgotten passwordsImplementing and monitoring security measures and standardsTraining users, sometimes one-on-one and sometimes in groups, and providing written guidelines and instructionsWorking closely with other departments/organizations to analyze requirements or solve problemsPlanning and implementing future IT developmentsSystem maintenance and administration of internal networks and public web servicesMonitoring and reporting system performanceParticipating in projects as a technical support knowledge baseWork closely with other teams for problem resolution and project coordinationOperating in a leadership capacity by taking on a mentoring role where appropriatePerforming other duties as assigned by manager or managementAs the successful applicant, you will possess the following requirements: AS degree in related field or equivalent5+ years of working with Microsoft Windows5+ years of prior technical support experienceStrongly developed analytical and troubleshooting skillsBasic math skills including but not limited to addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, decimals, and fractionsGood communication skills (written and oral)Knowledge and experience with Active Directory and Internet Information ServerKnowledge and Experience with high-end Microsoft Windows based server platforms such as Windows 2000/2003/XP and Microsoft SQL ServerExtensive knowledge and experience with the BASH shell environmentTeam player with ability to learn complex technical materialAbility to problem solve using deductive reasoning in a timely mannerAbility to lift 50 poundsAbility to sit or stand for prolonged periods of timeWork Environment: Moderate to loud noise levelFact paced and positiveRequired to stand, walk, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel or bend, talk, hear, and write
