Senior Structural Engineer Job in Huntsville 35808, Alabama US
Systems Engineering Group, QinetiQ North America delivers systems engineering and integration, software development, logistics information management, training systems management, information technology services, and test and evaluation support for the development, modification, fielding and sustainment of military equipment and systems.Our core competencies include: * Enterprise IT Services* Logistics Solutions/Life-Cycle Support* Programmatic Services* Security Solutions* Software Development & Integration* Systems Engineering & Integration* Test & Evaluation* Training SolutionsDuties of these positions involve: * Application of standard practice hand calculations of aircraft and component static stress analysis for verification of structural integrity* Development of airworthiness structural criteria, testing requirements, test witnessing, test plans, determination of flight envelope restrictions (Do Not Exceeds(DNE)), and analysis of flight strain/loads data.
* Review of flight test and specimen laboratory testing data to establish S-N curves and prediction of component lives.
* Preparation of flight releases safety of flight messages, and airworthiness evaluations and reports.
Candidate must be security clearance eligible.
QinetiQ-NA is seeking Structural Engineers with the following qualifications/experience: * BS degree in Civil, Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited engineering curriculum.
* Experience in static stress and fatigue analysis of aircraft; experience with rotary wing aircraft dynamic components is a plus.
* Experience in aircraft/helicopter flight test planning, flight data processing and analysis.
* Experience in application of rotary wing component life methodology is a desirable.
