Job Description: The Software Engineering Tool Expert is responsible to the National SW Tools Discipline Manager for the operation of national SW tool activities with a primary focus in Ft Wayne, IN. The requirement for this position is for the candidate to be homed in our NCS Ft Wayne facility.

This position will report into the Engineering Solutions (ES) team within Information Solutions.

The primary responsibilities of this job are to support NCS Engineering by deploying and supporting best in class software engineering tooling in multi-site secure collaborative networking and computing environments.

Specific tasks include: providing guidance on engineering national tool procurement, deployment, usage, licensing and strategic direction; supplier management; interface with site SW engineering personnel; coordinate local and national resources to provide services to all NCS sites; helping users on programs effectively apply Software Engineering tools; troubleshoot tool related problems; tailor tools to specific program needs, and identify and document Software Engineering Solutions best practices.

Additional responsibilities include interfacing and supporting environment engineering planners to capture functional requirements and to translate those unctional requirements into program environment planning and execution.

Required Skills: * Software, Systems or Hardware Engineering Program Experience (3+ yrs) * Experience in the application of two or more of the following Software Engineering tooling areas: (Change Management, Configuration Management, Integrated Development Environment, Code Analysis, Software Testing, Software Design).

Example tools include ClearCase, Synergy, KlockWork, Rhapsody, WindRiver WorkBench among others.

* Understanding of the Software Engineering Process * Ability to multi-task, to support multiple customers, and to work within specific schedule and cost constraints * Must possess and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, presentation and verbal/written communication skills * Strong problem solving skills * Strong teamwork skills - The ability to interact productively with end users, analysts, other Raytheon personnel, and customers in a diverse team setting * Ability to work and collaborate in virtual environment where team members are not co-located.

* Self motivated and able to function with minimal oversight * Self directed with good organizational skills Desired Skills: * Software Engineering Program Experience (6+ yrs) * Strong expertise or knowledge in Change Management/Configuration Management or Software Testing * Experience assisting users in troubleshooting tool problems * Top notch computer skills and programming experience in one or more languages (java, C, C++, C#) * Process Experience: Generating process documentation and tooling aids, instructing others in a SW process area (SW Cost Estimation, SW Detail Design, Software Code, metrics, etc) * Existing security clearance Required Education (including Major): BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical degree.
