This position is located in Austin, TX.The Sr. Security Engineer III is responsible for assisting in the design, installation, upgrade, analysis and/or troubleshooting of technical security solutions for the information security team.

They are responsible for collaborating with other staff to ensure a strong and effective working relationship.

In addition, the Sr. Security Engineer III also has responsibility for continuous product knowledge development through vendor-sponsored training and self-paced study.

He/she will be responsible for analyzing operating practices to determine if controls and security measures are adequate and will present written findings and recommendations accordingly.

Provide Information Security architecture design, policy and technical implementation expertise.

The position is an engineering/architect and requires hands-on expertise in evaluating and implementing, maintaining and monitoring information security technologies.

Additionally, the candidate will take a lead role in managing major Information Security projects and implementations.

Responsibilities:
Analyze and document existing architectures, security policies and physical infrastructure for risk assessment and Risk Treatment Reports.

Research and develop additional Technical Control Solution Framework Technologies to align with the Information Security Management System risk treatment strategies and solutions.


Design, implementation, and documentation of new Information Security architectures, Risk Analysis methodologies and technical control standards to support the various Demand Media platforms and environments.


Evaluate operating practices and component level diagrams to determine if controls and security measures are adequate
Experience performing vulnerability risk assessments of application environments using both manual procedures and automated analysis tools.


Communicates to cross-functional teams the importance of application security.

Help software engineers implement best practices in code development as it relates to security.


Independently lead projects Coordinates with development teams to ensure application security standards are being followed and implemented correctly.

Evaluates application development and implementation activities for possible vulnerabilities.


Promote collaboration, cooperation, communications and teamwork within the Information Security team.


Tier-3 Technical Security support to Tier-3, NE, SE, NOC, Corporate IT and development teams
Develops and foster productive and collaborative relationships with software testers, development engineers and operations staff.


Develop and maintain strong and effective working relationships with vendor engineering resources.


Knowledge of network technologies and protocols
Architect, install, upgrade, analyze and/or troubleshoot technical security controls (may involve Authentication systems, Virtual Private Networks, Vulnerability scanners, Firewalls, and/or other network security devices).


Plans and presents programs for end-user security awareness.


Acts as a resource and provides innovative solutions by investigating, analyzing, and resolving highly complex security-related questions and problems.


Present written findings and recommendations
Attend training and achieve certification with the key information Security Technologies.


Travel, as needed between Demand offices (Santa Monica and Austin).

Requirements:
College degree or equivalent work experience
Minimum 10 years implementing network infrastructure and 6 years focused on operational security
Experience in deploying security tools in a large web-facing environment
Expert-level knowledge and experience with technical security control including Authentication systems, Virtual Private Networks, Vulnerability scanners, Firewalls, and other network security devices.


Knowledge and experience analyzing networking technology including TCP/IP, Routers, Switching, VLANs, LANs, WANs and Wireless systems.


Application Development experience with (C, C++, Perl, XML)
Security Development experience with (XCCDF, OVAL, SAML)
Project management skills including requirements analysis, project scoping, problem solving, status reporting, technical analysis, and meeting tight deadlines.


Extensive technical skills including making recommendations in both written and oral form, leading training for employees and peers, understanding demand work practices and showing initiative when confronted with urgent and complex technical dilemmas.


Strong collaborative and communication skills including working with internal cross-discipline teams.


Familiarity with organizational policies, business requirements for information security, contractual issues, and the regulations related to information security.

Should have some basic understanding of intellectual property issues, protection, and retention of organizational records and common compliance standards for information protection such as GLB, Sarbanes, PCI, and HIPAA.


Working knowledge and experience of business processes, practices, and organizational structures.


Must pass background checkDesired Qualifications:
Security IT Audit or whitehat application assessment experience
Experience with ISO/27001, COBIT, HIPAA, GLBA, SOX, PCI
Familiarity with business systems (ERP, CRM, etc.)
CISSP, CISA, or other industry certifications
Big Four or consulting background
