Department Overview Symantec Endpoint Security products are the core of Symantec's security strategy for the enterprise.

The company's flagship product, Symantec Endpoint Protection, provides industry leading protection to small and medium size businesses as well as world's largest enterprises.

Built on cutting-edge technologies (many of which protect millions of consumer desktops in our sister product line - Norton Internet Security and Norton 360), the system offers anti-virus, anti-spyware, firewall, intrusion prevention system, application control, device control, and proactive threat scanning that can be centrally managed through a scalable architecture.

Responsibilities
Extensive experience working with network communication protocols TCPIP and IPX, Network Security environment, and wireless technologies.

Should have a good understanding of OSI model layers.


Works with minimal supervision on analysis tasks and with little or no supervision on designing enterprise network model .

Collaborates within and across groups in writing test cases and test design.

Identifies bottlenecks and suggests solutions to improve the product and/or QA process.


Uses professional concepts and comes up with innovative techniques to solve a wide range of difficult problems.

Must be able to grasp new technologies quickly.


A high energy level, the ability to set and achieve individual goals, and great interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

The ideal candidate will participate and lead the decision making on the design and implementation of solutions that employ leading-edge technologies.

Qualifications
Bachelors in Computer Science, Engineering,or equivalent experience
Should be able to develop test plan and strategy and identify both whitebox testing and blackbox testing test cases.

Configure complex enterprise test environments: switches, routers, VPNs, Windows and Linux operating systems, and applications.


Previous experience of developing automation strategy as well as its successful implementation.

Should have a good understanding of scripting languages such as VB Script, PERL
Write, review and execute test cases for Enterprise Security product.

Full life cycle software development experience from conception to product delivery
Identify, propose, and implement QA/test planning, quality metrics & process improvements and manage defect reports.


Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and must be a strong team player.

Must be flexible to work in early or late office hours, when required.

Ability to work and communicate well with the other members of the team.


6+ years of software industry experience with 4+ years in Software Quality Assurance.

Strong understanding of quality assurance process and execution including test cases and test plans, good understanding of EAP/PEAP Authentication protocols
Strong understanding of 802.

1q, 802.

1d /spanning tree/rstp/rpvst, routing, and bridging, exposure to multiple network switches, routers, VPNs.

Strong understanding of high performance networking systems, software development, and networking protocols
Good understating of Routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, IGRP, and BGP. Implementation experience desired.

Significant experience with implementing new technologies and solid knowledge of network design.
