Senior Revenue Accountant - software industry Job in Boston, Massachusetts US
Our client, a world leader in business intelligence and performance planning software for the enterprise, has an immediate need for a Senior Revenue Accountant to support the North American Field Operations.
You will report to the Accounting Manager and be part of a growing team.
Apply SOP 97-2 & Cognos software revenue recognition guidelines to all sales order agreements.
Assist the Legal Department with the compilation and review of license and service order agreements in accordance with revenue recognition guidelines Perform monthly audits of orders for proper revenue recognition, data entry and billing accuracy Assist in educating the sales staff on SOP 97-2, service accounting and related revenue recognition issues Assist in the establishment of formal policies and procedures for the field sales/services organization Assist in the improvement of current policies and procedures in connection with Sarbanes Oxley requirements Ensure changes to the pricing model are understood and conveyed to the order admin team Qualifications: 3-4 years working experience in accounting and a BS/BA degree or equivalent Knowledge of SOP 97-2 software revenue recognition and service accounting regulations Demonstrated customer satisfaction skills and ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight time constraints
