Position Description: Moog is searching for Senior Electrical Project Engineers and Senior Mechanical Project Engineers for future opportunities within our growing company.
Duties and Responsibilities: Project engineers are responsible for the overall technical coordination of the design & development of new electromechanical and electrohydraulic actuation products.
This role forms the primary technical contact with the customer and is responsible for overall technical compliance of the product, to the customer specification and statement of work, verification and validation, establishing test methods and test equipment design, problem resolution and A&T support.
Working in conjunction with the program manager, the project engineers will manage program schedule, overall project cost, risk management and mitigation as well as mission assurance activities.
Attention to aspects of design for manufacture, assembly and test are required.
The project engineers are also involved in the creation of proposed solutions to meet very unique and demanding customer applications.
Education and Experience: Bachelors Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE), Masters preferential.
Minimum of 10 years of industrial experience with at least 2 years in design & 2 years in a hands on lead project engineering role.
Design experience related to motion control systems, brushless servomotors, actuation systems or mechanism design advantageous.
Skills and Knowledge: · Strong leadership and decision making skills necessary to lead a team of talented and diverse design engineers in the complete execution of a project (Concept development through product delivery)· Strong working knowledge of Electromechanical and Electrohydraulic actuation· Project management experience including (schedule, technical risk and cost)· Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills requiredTravel: Expected domestic/international travel of 8-12 times per year.
Citizenship: Due to government and military contracts US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status is required.
