Senior Java Developer Job in New York, New York US
A major client, located in New York City, is seeking a NY-based Senior Developer with 5+ years experience to focus on developing and supporting applications for Equities Investments Technology division.
The position will focus on trading application software development.
These applications are used by users from most departments, including Private Client and Institutional Client Services, Portfolio Management, Global Operations, Fund Accounting, and other business units.
Specifically, this person will focus on building Portware as a common execution management system for our clients.
In doing so, this position will work closely with business users and other developers within the department.The ideal candidate should be a strong Developer with the following qualifications: Strong software development background with significant experience in the analysis, design, construction, and testing of trading applications, primarily written in JavaExperience with the Portware Execution Management System (EMS) would be an important advantageBackground in Fixed Income and Derivatives trading, as well as knowledge of market data feeds and API's would be very helpfulTeam player, willing to work openly and cooperatively within multi-disciplinary teams composed of members from various business unitsVery strong general computer science background including: Extensive object oriented design experienceAll aspects of Java platform (however, knowledge of web development is less relevant)Database skills relevant to application design (data modeling and schema design)Basic knowledge of Linux or some other Unix variant
