Senior In-Stock Manager, Food Job in Seattle 98104, Washington US
This position is responsible for developing and executing category level inventory strategies to maximize sales, margin and inventory turns.
In this role, you will have end to end ownership of the inventory from manufacturer to end customer.
You will also build strong partnerships with the buying and merchandising teams as well as vendors to drive toward common goals.
The successful candidate must be able to dive deep on key operational metrics (inventory health, turns, defect rates, inbound/outbound forecasts, vendor lead times, etc) and recommend/drive process improvements, both internal and with vendors, based on root cause analysis.
The right candidate will be highly analytical, action/results oriented, flexible and self-starting.
To succeed in the role, you must possess the ability to operate from a company-wide perspective and will need to encourage cross-functional and cross-business project development.
Specifically, the Senior In-Stock Manager will be responsible for the following aspects of the Food business: INVENTORY & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT: For the categories that they will own: forecast and manage efficient inbound/outbound inventory flows, including the outbound flow of inventory for vendor returns/liquidations.
Recommend/drive action plans to reduce return/liquidation/damages costs.
Analyze inventory position to maximize turns and recommend/negotiate exit strategies for uneconomic inventory.
Recommend/drive improvements to the inventory health logic to optimize the effectiveness of OIH recommendations.
Create a feedback loop to the buying team to reduce the incidence of uneconomic inventory.
OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCIES: Measure, monitor, and improve vendor lead times, reduce operational defects and improve systems to streamline operations between vendor partners and Amazon.
Communicate with vendors regarding operational performance metrics and recommended actions to lower operational costs, reduce defects, and enhance operational efficiency.
Perform root-cause analysis/reporting on operational issues, develop action plans and project manage improvements.
Action plans should lead to sustained improvement in the area of the defect.
PROJECT MANAGEMENT: Provide detailed analysis and develop improvement plans for key buying metrics including vendor lead times, cost variances, and catalog data accuracy.
Job Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (in either Business, Supply Chain/Operations, Engineering or Math) required; MBA preferredMust have strong analytical abilities, demonstrated leadership experience and exceptional bias of getting things done.
Must possess excellent business judgment, strong written and oral communication skills, and a practical, common sense approach to getting things done.
