The Sr. Engineer II completes projects based on customer requests, including scope definition, conceptual and detailed design and cost estimates, as well as writing and supporting (through written and verbal communication and presentations) capital requests.

Duties will include receiving direction from the NA Engineering Platform, through the Lead Engineer and he/she will work closely with the plant personnel on the capital needs of each plant.

His/her primary responsibility will be to provide full project engineering support to the facility and execute capital projects safely, timely, and cost effectively.

He/she will be responsible for gathering and analyzing data, developing process capabilities, designing control systems, justifying and submitting projects, cost estimating, installation projects, adhering to schedules and budgets for projects in the range of $100,000 to $5MM.

This person could be the Project Manager for a team installing projects over $1,000,000.

This individual is expected to be a liaison between the NA Engineering Platform and the Plant.

This includes management of all contractor and plant resources involved with the project, as well as schedule coordination with maintenance and operations personnel.

The Sr. Engineer II is also a technical resource used and involved in documenting best practices, completing WCM based technical analysis and providing expertise in project implementation practices.

Experience & Desired Skill Sets: - BS in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering - Seven to ten years experience as a production/maintenance engineer in a chemical manufacturing/industrial facility along with working knowledge of chemical process equipment - Project Management experience with typical projects in the $250,000 range or greater.

- Chemical plant design experience (equipment selection, efficient layouts, etc.) - Process design experience (equipment sizing, heat loads, vapor pressure, mass balances, etc.) - Ability to research and specify equipment in addition to analyze, troubleshoot, and solve problems - Ability to prioritize, schedule, inspect work, and (re)direct resources as necessary - Familiarity with project management techniques - Proficient use of spreadsheets, cost programs, and scheduling programs (Engineering spreadsheets/calculations a must) - Working knowledge of applicable OSHA standards - Good leadership and organizational skills to manage and motivate contractor personnel, mechanics, and design teams - Good computer skills along with excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete complex assignments with minimal supervision - Independent, self-starter, and motivated Rhodia is an international chemical company resolutely committed to sustainable development.
