Senior Cost Analyst Job in Somerville, Massachusetts US
Responsibilities Include: Set-up and maintenance of Bill of Materials for new and existing productsOwn the Physical Inventory process including modifying and communicating the process, ensuring compliance, investigation of deviations, implementing corrective actions to improve the process, and integrity of our client's inventorySpearhead new inventory initiatives and follow-through of implementationReports must be prepared accurately and timely; but simply distributing reports is insufficient, the successful candidate must conduct cost analysis, draw conclusions, suggest process improvements, and lead implementation of the initiative after obtaining consensusInteract with the external auditors providing complete information in a timely manner, constantly searching for more accurate and cost effective audit resultsMap processes and develop process improvements to provide more timely, accurate and relevant information with enhanced visibility such that Managers can take corrective action more quicklyCreate system reports and custom worksheets to conduct insightful analysis (segmentation, yields, or PPV) and actionable profit improvement initiativesAnalysis - the successful candidate must be capable of conducting causal or activity based analysis, segmenting the business and cost data, and providing insight into our costs relative to our strategic initiativesIn-depth knowledge of cost accounting within a manufacturing environment includes: Bachelor's Degree with a business-related concentration (accounting preferred)Minimum 3+ years of cost accounting experienceGood interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written) and ability to interact and communicate effectively with employees at all levels
