Senior Buyer/Vendor Manager, Fine Jewelry Job in Seattle 98104, Washington US
The Jewelry team is looking for a talented, smart and experienced Senior Vendor Manager/Buyer to lead and expand Amazon’s Diamond business.
The successful candidate will be the primary business owner of our Diamond Fashion and Bridal categories.
Responsibilities include all aspects of demand generation for the category, for driving a best-in-class customer experience, and for ensuring category leadership in the online market segment.
This entails driving unit, revenue, and margin growth through effective management and implementation of projects/promotions, maximizing selection, and enhancing our merchandising, customer, and site experience.
Responsibilities include managing item/vendor set-up and maintenance, pricing, presentation, assortments, and vendor relations.
The successful candidate must be highly organized and have extensive knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel).
This candidate should have experience in team-building and management, planning, forecasting, and a background in retail or e-commerce.
They must be able to work in a highly demanding but collegial environment where teamwork is a must.
The right candidate will be flexible, action and results oriented, and self-starting.
They must also be decisive and able to move with speed to implement their own ideas.
The position requires an individual who can work autonomously in a highly demanding and often ambiguous environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
The candidate must also possess strong analytical acumen and be comfortable generating and evaluating various forecasts, metrics, and analysis.
He/she is adept at problem-solving and managing multiple priorities effectively and efficiently.
Communication skills (both oral and written) are also key. The ideal candidate will possess most if not all of the following qualities: 5+ years buying experience with multi-channel retailer.
Understanding of the merchandising process and product lifecycles.
Knowledge of Open to Buy process.
Strong understanding of merchandising metrics including financials.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Experience managing multiple direct reports.
Experience using inventory maintenance tools.
Ability to travel abroad or domestically as needed.
