Overview: The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for leading the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications to support XATAs vision of being the number one provider of fleet operations optimization software.

The role will provide leadership, working with business and technical teams to ensure that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities.

Responsibilities include: · Drive the vision and implementation of XATAs Business Intelligence solution.

· Define strategies associated with data management, data integrity, universe design, dashboard and report creation leveraging enterprise level reporting and analytics tools.

· Consults with internal and external business partners to design technical solutions leveraging the business intelligence tools within XATA.

· Designs and implements integrated technical solutions for proprietary and purchased software including enterprise-level projects.

· Identify best practices for communicating metrics through dashboards, key performance indicators, and detail level reporting.

· Implement migration strategy to reduce and replace legacy reports and reporting system(s).

· Responsible for requirements and technical documentation for business intelligence related projects.

· Develops and maintains standard and ad hoc reports based on business and technical requirements.

· Responsible for performance tuning and enhancements of reporting solutions.

· Provide application support and maintenance.

· Capable of designing logical data models.

· Coordination with the Technology Infrastructure group on Data Warehouse optimization and maintenance.

· Capable of documenting design according to companies process guidelines.

· Participates in the requirements process through design and specification reviews.

· Participates in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software.

· Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Required Qualifications: · Requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related area.

· Significant experience in defining and implementing data warehousing, business intelligence, data management and analytics solutions.

· Strong ability to identify complex problems, review and gather relevant information, develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

· 5+ years of SQL Server experience.

· Strong knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, SSIS and ETL. · Experience with SQL Server Analysis Services (OLAP Cube Development) · Knowledge of multi-tiered web application development and object oriented programming.

· Exceptional interpersonal and team building skills.

· Possesses a positive attitude with strong work ethic, integrity and honesty.

· Proven ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed environment.

· Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines concurrently.

Additional Qualifications: · 3+ years experience with an enterprise level reporting tool (BusinessObjects preferred).

· Familiarity with Visual Studio Database Edition or similar tool.

· High degree of competence is required with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Project.

· Utilized Agile development practices (automated unit testing, continuous integration, etc)· General understanding of trucking industry private fleet and for-hire.
