Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager Job in New York, New York US
A major client, located in New York City, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst / Project Manager.
This is a key role in creating and maintaining a suite of applications for the Documents Data platform in the Data Group.
GDS and DocPoint under the documents platform is a vital suite of applications central to the firm's risk assessment and control programs, including: Client Identity, Credit Risk and Capital, Collateral Management, and Tax. These applications provide document storage and retrieval services, document content capture, and a rules engine to evaluate documentation and non-documentation requirements, expiration and mailing services, reporting and other key business functions.
These applications are multi-tiered and employ various technologies including Java middleware, client-side C#, and C++ for back-end services and rules engine, Shell script, and Sybase as a database.
The successful candidate will be a member of a development team interacting with business analysts and end users from our client's business areas such as Equity, Fixed Income, Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Global Wealth Management, and company areas such as Tax, Legal, and Risk.
This individual will be responsible to: Manage client expectation, project prioritization, and schedulingAnalyze and document client requirements for specific business projectsAct as a delivery manager of various business driven projects with complete end to end responsibility from scoping to implementationThe minimum requirements to qualify for this position are as follows: Strong business analysis and project management experienceClear understanding of project management and business analysis approachesExceptional written and verbal presentation skillsStrong analytical skills with an ability to research independentlyStrong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills and a creative and flexible approach to problem solvingKeen attention to detailStrong communication and influencing skillsSelf motivated, strong sense of ownership, and accountability for workCapable of setting direction and motivating team members outside the direct reporting lineFluency with all MS Office tools including Access, Project, and VisioAbility to deal with ambiguity and define approaches to bring un-focused issues to resolutionDesired: Previous background in working with Technology TeamsUnderstanding of software development life cycle and change management processes
