Scientist, Ingredient Food Safety Job Job in Barrington, Illinois US
Description- Coordinate development of policies and procedures regarding ingredient safety and global contaminant programs.
- Lead development of tools for risk assessment and food safety data for ingredients and manage information and communication around material food safety databases and supplier quality assurance processes- Coordinate development of technical ingredient food safety requirements including hazard identification, risk assessment and risk management strategies, to insure ingredient safetytools for ingredient safety, such as the Global Supplier Database - Act as liaison between Risk Matrix steering committee, sub-teams, and field personnel insuring that data is accurate and current, and communicated via material specifications - Lead coordination of metrics reporting for the global SQA process by working with regional contacts - Manage process for Raw Material Dossier (RMD) review for QTG materialsRequirements: - Bachelors Degree with an understanding of food safety risks in food and beverage manufacturing.
- Minimum of three years experience and/or masters degree with some practical experience at managing Food Safety within food manufacturing operations, preferably for a multinational company.
- Some experience in dealing with microbiological and other Food Safety risks in food and beverage manufacturing.
- Some knowledge/experience in food science as related to ingredients used in food manufacturing, nutrition and food chemistry a plus- Must have attention to detail and follow-up, with good project management and organizational skills- Experience and demonstrated skill with information technology, in particular, databases - Familiarity and comfort with working across varied, diverse, international cultures.
- Good negotiating skills- Some knowledge of food regulations and the regulatory process- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to represent PepsiCo internally on business teams- High integrity, with personal commitment to corporate and community values.
