Sales & Bus Devlmt Consultant Job in Detroit 48201, Michigan US
This position is responsible for developing a new sales pipeline and closing applicable sales for the Michigan captive agent offices by building relationships with GM/GMAC employee groups & suppliers, developing strategies to drive prospects into the offices, & determining necessary tactics to grow the business.
This position will work closely with account management to develop & execute marketing strategies, sales promotions & other activities designed to profitably grow sales for the assigned account.
This position has primary responsibility for the tactical execution of marketing programs or projects with appropriate direction and within approved budget constraints in order to achieve new business goals.
Responsibilities will also include retention of existing GM/GMAC employee customer groups and utilizing those contacts to expand the base of business.
This position will sell GMAC Insurance personal lines insurance products (auto, home, motorcycle, RV, specialty) to GM/GMAC employees & suppliers.
They will assist customers in selecting an insurance product/policy appropriate for their needs as well as explaining GMAC Insurance’s features, benefits, policies and coverages to customers.
Position will be regularly and customarily engaged in business away from employer’s place of business.Job Experience: 1)Previous experience as an insurance agent required with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage a territory.
Must have prospecting/cold-calling experience.
2)Demonstrates strong outside sales and negotiation skills with an emphasis on consultative selling required.
3)Demonstrates creativity and marketing skills in developing new leads.
4)Obtains/Maintains appropriate licensing or educational requirements 5)High ethical standards required6)Demonstrates solid understanding of marketing and sales policies & procedures; may refer complex questions to supervisor after evaluation.
7)College degree preferred, or equivalent business experience8)Demonstrates ability to listen to customers, consult, and provide insurance recommendations that meet individual customer needs required.
9)MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint required.
10)Additional experience in Cognos or other Management Information System preferred.
Travel will be primarily day travel within the Detroit metro area.
