SUPERVISING PHARMACIST Job in Moreno Valley, California US
Riverside County Regional Medical Center (RCRMC) has an immediate need for a Supervising Pharmacist. This position assists the Pharmacy Director direct and supervise the Pharmacy Services at RCRMC and the outlying County clinics, monitors the distribution and proper administration of all medications and supervises Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and other Pharmacy staff. The Supervising Pharmacist acts for the Pharmacy Director in his absence.Examples Of Duties: Assist the Pharmacy Director supervise the activities of Pharmacy Services at RCRMC and outlying clinics. Develops, designs, and implements Pharmacy Services procedures, policies, and programs; prepares and updates departmental policy and procedure manuals; proposes, evaluates, and monitors budgetary, purchasing, and productivity information and standards. Directs quality assurance, drug utilization review and medication monitoring conducted by the Department; ensures that all local, state, and federal laws regarding medications are followed; ensures that appropriate pharmacy services are provided to patients as well as nursing, physicians, and other professionals. Acts for the Pharmacy Director in his absence; serves as liaison between the medical staff and the Pharmacy Department.Typical Qualifications: Education: Graduation from a School of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm. D.) Experience: Three years as a pharmacist in a hospital or health care facility, e.g., managed care or medical clinics, including one year supervising pharmacists. Knowledge of: Drug distribution systems and the provision of clinical pharmacy services; system development and implementation of drug distribution and/or clinical systems/ services; quality assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement; principles of effective supervision; good customer (physicians, nurses, and patients) service; professional standards and practices; Federal, Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission and Department of Health Services laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to patient care, and dispensing of legal and non-legal pharmaceuticals and poisons.
