Job Title: SCA Elctrnc Tec Maint 2Job Number: 0800E9GJob Category: SCA DisciplinePrimary Location: USA-CA: CALIFORNIA-SAN DIEGOSchedule: Full-timeJob Type: RegularEmployee Status: RegularJob Posting: 2009-Nov-25 Description Craftmaster - SCORE SCA Electronics Technician Maintenance II CSCis actively searching for an SCA Electronics Technician Maintenance II - (Craftmaster) to help support the Naval Air Station North Island, Southern California Offshore Range (SCORE) contract, at San Diego, CA. Candidate will launch, recover, perform routine maintenance, operate, and navigate small watercraft (Up to 100 gross registered tons) and associated equipment at near coastal waters in San Clemente Island, CA. Applicant will use small watercraft to tow target craft and perform at sea salvage operations.
Candidate will construct and maintain surface targets.
Work location is strictly San Clemente Island.
QualificationThree years of experience up to the level of Master aboard vessels operating under conditions requiring precise navigation, station keeping, close quarter maneuvering, and towing.
Graduation from an accredited trade school, applicable military service program, or proven performance gained through experience in watercraft operation and seamanship is needed.
A current license by the US Coast Guard as a Master of inspected motor vessels of 100 gross registered tons in near coastal water or equivalent experience is highly desired; specific experience with both the international and US inland rules of the road and experience with marine radio voice, VHF, and UHF communications procedures and practices is needed.
Proficient in written and verbal English language skills.
Applicant must be able to stand, see, reach, and balance 50 to 75 percent of the time and be able to lift up to 50 lbs as much as 25 to 50 percent of the time.
Candidate must be able to swim and be physically fit and capable of spending extensive hours at sea in all weather conditions.
Knowledgeable of military operations is highly desirable.
Candidate must be a US citizen and able to acquire a government security clearance.
