Description: The PMI Group is looking for a Certified Residential Appraiser on a temporary basis for consulting and supporting our National Underwriting and Risk Operations group in Downers Grove, IL. The Appraiser will be responsible for the following: Perform analysis and review of origination appraisals as part of the real-time underwriting process Use web-based tools and other resources to assess risks at the property and neighborhood level Train and counsel staff underwriters on appropriate appraisal review methods Work directly with lender customers to address general appraisal issues.
Five years or more of residential appraisal experience.
Significant appraisal review experience to include recent experience with origination appraisals, field and desk reviews.
Qualifications: Experience working in a Lending environment highly desirable.
Certified Residential Appraiser or equivalent appraiser licensing level.
Familiarity to detect violations of and adherence to USPAP standards and Fannie Mae guidelines.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment and effectively communicate findings.
Comfortable in training and coaching underwriting staff individually and in groups.
