Resin & Materials Engineer Job in St. Louis 63044, Missouri US
Continental Commercial Products, a leading manufacturer & distributor of plastic commercial, consumer and OEM products, seeks a detailed Resin & Materials Engineer for our St. Louis Missouri plant.
Responsibilities: Develop, process, and coordinate testing of materials used in a variety of products for cost savings opportunities.
Resin Purchasing Strategy development through pricing benchmarks, Supplier monitoring, International traders/exports/imports monitoring, Secondary market tracking, market insights, and base material investigationLead the implementation of a post-industrial/consumer plastic molding program.
This includes identifying sources for reclaimed plastics to be converted for use in our Injection Molding process.
The reclaimed plastic can be molded by direct processing, reformulated with additives, or re-processed through our Scrap Converting system.
Take lead role with Purchasing for vendor selection, negotiations, and purchase contracts.
Responsible for planning resin raw materials purchases based on internal demand and market cost fluctuations.
Setup and design appropriate material testing procedures.
Develop and track root cause analysis for problems related to materials.
Lead the effort to error proof quality issues related to raw materials.
Other duties as assigned by Management Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Technical field5 to 15 years Plastics materials experience - Injection Molding experience is a mustIn-depth knowledge of the array of Injection Molding resins availableExperience with Supplier developmentFamiliarity with recycled resins and processing of recycled materials Resourceful, organzied with ability to apply critical problem solving skills ARE YOU UP FOR IT?
