submit() } Position Description We are seeking a stem cell biologist to join a new unit focused on the discovery of drugs that modulate stem cells and cell lineages.
The successful candidate will develop and utilize novel high-content assays for stem cells and cell lineages of therapeutic interest.
A demonstrated record of accomplishment in stem cell research, extensive experience with stem cell culture and relevant analytical methods (immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, reporter gene systems, gene expression analysis), a deep understanding of key signaling pathways underlying self-renewal and differentiation, and a firm grasp of emerging concepts in stem cell research and an interest in applying them to regenerative medicine are required.
Specific experience with muscle, cardiac, chondrocyte, or adipose cell lineages is desirable, although transferable skills from other cell lineages are also suitable.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented research environment are essential.
Position Requirements The candidate must have a PhD in cell biology, developmental biology, or molecular biology with 3 years postdoctoral fellowship in stem cell biology and hands-on experience with growth and differentiation of mammalian stem cells.
The candidate must have strong molecular biology skills, a reputation as an emerging investigator in the field and a solid publication record, and scientific creativity and critical thinking.
