submit() } Position Description We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated in vivo biologist to join a new unit focused on the discovery of drugs that modulate stem cells and cell lineages.
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience with the use of animal models to elucidate gene function, understand disease mechanisms, or analyze cell lineages in vivo.
A strong understanding of disease mechanisms and the ability to assimilate information about new disease areas are key attributes.
Specific experience with cardiac or musculoskeletal systems is desirable, although transferable knowledge and skills from other organ systems are also suitable.
Excellent communication skills and ability to thrive within a fast-paced team-oriented research environment is essential.
Position Requirements The candidate must have a PhD in pharmacology, cell biology, or developmental biology, 3 years postdoctoral fellowship, and 3-5 years work experience developing or utilizing animal disease models.
The candidate must have excellent animal handling skills, experience writing animal protocols and study reports, demonstrated experience with pharmacodynamic readouts (biochemical, histology, immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry), solid publication record and scientific creativity and critical thinking.
The candidate must have the ability to interact with and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and manage research assistants.
