Research Scientist - Naperville, IL Job in Naperville 60563, Illinois US
Nalco has an opening for an experienced Advanced level Engineer in our Boiler Research Group located in Naperville, IL. The successful Advanced level Engineer will be responsible for exciting and innovative research and development work on boiler system sensors, automation, and equipment to complement our traditional chemical offerings.
Another area of emphasis includes modeling of energy and water savings as it pertains to unit operation.
The individual will work in both the laboratory and at customer sites to produce and validate new offerings in this high growth area.
The individual should be a strong project leader, a strong team player, and interact with marketing, sales, and customers on a routine basis.
The position requires fundamental knowledge of boiler systems and the mechanisms of damage for boiler and steam systems.
Critical evaluation of laboratory work and presentation of results in a clear and concise manner are required.
The individual will be expected to provide guidance on current and future research direction.
The position level will be commensurate with experience and/or educational background.
The minimum qualifications the candidate will have include: PhD or MS in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering5 to 10 years experience in boiler water and boiler systems and/or utility systemsAutomation or control experience in the industry is a plusSolid communication skills (oral and written) with demonstrated drive and initiative and an innovative spirit are requiredStrong collaboration skills We rely on the diversity of our workforce to drive our growth and success.
