Records Assistant Job in Merrillville 46410, Indiana US
Job SummaryResponsible for maintaining accurate records of student information and monitoring attendance.
This position functions within the guidelines of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act and the policies of the school.
Incumbent must assure that the EDMC philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Key Job Elements Maintain academic files for current and former students: update changes and ensure files are complete, accurate, and in tact.
Enter attendance, ensure information is accurate, print attendance reports, check for missing attendance records and contact appropriate instructors, and distribute attendance reports to ADDs on a weekly basis.
Generate withdrawal paperwork as needed.
Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and external inquiries at the Registrar window and over the telephone.
Assist in the normal functions of the Registrar department: orientation, input midterm grades, assist in inputting schedules, registration, input final grades, and prepare for next quarter start.
Input advanced standing paperwork.
Handle transcript and verifications of enrollment requests.
Create student ID cards.
Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

At least one year of related clerical support experience working in a post-secondary institution.
Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student populations.
Superior organizational skills Strong computer and analytical skills.
Abilities: Work effectively as a team member to insure that departmental goals are met. Ability to prioritize work and perform well under pressure.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
