RF Engineer Job in Scottsdale, Arizona US
Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) Handheld, Manpack, Small Form Fit (HMS) The Joint Tactical Radio System HMS Team will bring miniaturized software defined radio technology into small devices such as unattended ground sensors and soldier systems that can overcome size, weight and power constraints.
Provide system-engineering expertise for the development of a military software-defined radio system and its modules.
As a member of the system engineering team, work with team partners within the Integrated Product Team structure to define the system architecture and collect system requirements.
Perform analyses to allocate these requirements to hardware and software sub-systems.
Also, as the primary system engineer for selected modules, allocate module-level requirements to module functions and circuits, and provide the technical leadership for their development and/or integration into radio sets or customer platforms.
Candidate must be able to travel 20% of the time.
** Engineering degree, preferably BSEE, with a minimum 8-10 years of systems engineering experience.
Management skills to include earned value techniques, metrics tracking and analysis.
Good oral, written and interpersonal skills to support appropriate interaction with internal team and teammate/customer representatives.
Ideally, candidate will have experience with development in an SEI CMM or CMMI environment.
Desirable experience/knowledge includes: PC applications in an MS Windows 2000/XP environment, communications protocols, various communication waveforms, WCDMA, encryption, Real-time OS, Management Information Base (MIB) development and SNMP services, hardware interface programming, test techniques, Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA), DOORS, Rational tools to include Clearcase, ClearQuest & Teamcenter.
Must be able to travel 20% of the time.
