Quality Engineer #SC001 Job in Ladson, South Carolina US
EMPLOYER: CUMMINS INC.POSITION: Quality EngineerJOB ID No.: SC001DUTIES: Manage the implementation of a quality system within the new Cummins Ladson Heavy Duty Plant.
Support the creation and maintenance of Control Plans (including inspection and audit requirements) for new and existing products and processes.
Lead assigned areas with quality tools, techniques, and expertise using knowledge of precision metrology techniques, TS16949 Quality System Standard, and Quality System Management ISO 9000:2000/TS 1649.
Lead and support Problem Solving, including the resolution of customer complaints, Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs), Corrective Action Report (CAR), and 7-steps leading process improvements.
Support the NPI process including, but not limited too: participation in design reviews using knowledge of the Turbocharger Product, machine run-offs, gage qualifications, and development of process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
Apply quality tools including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), Pareto analysis, Brainstorming, and Six Sigma statistical tools to the manufacturing process.
Perform product/process audits to monitor effectiveness of quality controls.
Lead and coordinate activities between Bought out Finished (BOF) suppliers, Supplier Quality Improvement (SQI), and internal manufacturing processes.
Experience: REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in industrial engineering, engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field plus 3 years of work experience in an automotive manufacturing and assembly occupation.
Alternatively, employer will accept a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field plus 5 years of work experience in an automotive manufacturing and assembly occupation.
Work experience to include: applying quality tools including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Design of Experiments (DOE), Pareto analysis, Brainstorming, and Six Sigma statistical tools to the manufacturing process; leading process improvements using 7-steps; precision metrology techniques; TS16949 Quality System Standard; Quality System Management ISO 9000:2000/TS 1649 (Perform product/process); Control Plans (including inspection and audit requirements); and Turbocharger Product.JOB SITE: Ladson, SCWORK HOURS: 40 hours/week (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)To apply, go to www.cummins.com and refer to Job ID #SC001.
