As a Quality Assurance Tester, you will be supporting software applications or components currently in production and/or in development in conformity with the IT Project Delivery Framework.

Make recommendations based on assessed risks to quality by applying various verification and validation techniques in coordination with the development team (QA Leads, Project Managers, Development Managers, Change Management, and QA core members).

Be accountable for internal process and procedure improvement projects and manage initiatives supporting continual QA process improvements and their integration with other process development activities.

Develop testing processes and approaches according to our client's and Six Sigma / CMM standards.

Assist in designing and ensuring overall integrity of the testing strategy.

Work with appropriate business and technology leads to determine the acceptable range for test results and performance.

You will design, develop, and implement test plans, scripts, and tools using the detailed business requirements document provided by the Business Analysts.

Work with business and technology leads to identify the appropriate data for testing and prepare that data for the test cases.

Assist Application Developers and the Technical Support staff in identifying and resolving problems.

You will facilitate resolution and communication of cross-application / organization architectural issues and decisions.

Assess and revise test sequences and scope based upon test results and/or changes in product design.

Coordinate component, system, and documentation testing with the appropriate Technical Groups and Release Management.

You will document test procedures and findings.

Reconcile test results from different tests and different groups.

Assess readiness and deviation of product / project performance based upon test results and product specifications.

Perform the tests in the QA and contingency / back-up environments.

Quality Assurance Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience or specialized training) in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science (CS), Software Engineering (SE), or related disciplineContribute to test planning, test preparation and scripting, and test execution according to defined best practices, standards, and proceduresInterface regularly with peers and management regarding test related topics including the coordination of test related initiatives with QA Leads, Project Managers, Development Managers, and other QA Core Team membersParticipate in all phases of the IT Project Delivery Framework including the review of complex business and functional requirementsAssess risk to quality service based upon results of verification and validationFollow and adhere to established test standards and proceduresProvide QA consultation services to support users of related test processesParticipate in verification and validation activities for production modificationsMaintain document template libraries and internal project documentationOrganize and/or facilitate team member training sessionsParticipate in internal and external process improvement projectsParticipate in test planning and test execution activitiesExperience working with on-site and off-shore teams is requiredExpertise with testing tools like Quality Center is essentialExperience in understanding, writing, and executing medium to complex SQL queries is necessaryExperience with the Rational products is a plusKnowledge of relational databases such as MS SQL, Oracle 9i, and 10g would be preferredExperience in data conversion and report testing is preferredAbility to multi-task effectivelyExcellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to fine detailsCandidates with CSQA, CSTE, or to be qualified for certification are preferred
