Quaker Foods & Snacks - Analyst / Senior Finance Analyst - Lite Snacks Job Job in Chicago, Illinois US
DescriptionThis role supports the Snacks Finance team and the Lite Snacks cross-functional brand teams.
The Snacks business (Bars, Lite Snacks, Gamesa, Cracker Jack, Canisters, Cookies) drives Gross Sales of almost $1 billion for the Quaker Foods and Snacks division.
As a core team member, this position will provide fact-based analysis and insight to help drive effective decision making.
As a member of the Snacks/Life team, this role will be responsible for supporting the Lite Snacks brands on a day-to-day basis as well as helping to develop long-term strategic plans to ensure sustainable growth (IGP/AOP).Key responsibilities include: - Support the Lite Snacks brand sales, trade and A&M planning process for Annual Operating Plan, Period Operating Reviews, Strategic Long Range Plan and interim forecasts.
- Analyze and communicate ongoing business results and insights, forecasts, and key drivers to the cross functional brand teams.
- Monitor IRI consumer movement, trends in customer shipments, and the effectiveness of advertising and other consumer and trade promotional activities to provide accurate volume forecasts.
- Monitor, track and forecast brand A&M budgets.
Align budget with Marketing and PD&E to improve forecast accuracy and eliminate year-end surprises.
- Support process and financial integration between Supply Chain, Customer Finance and the business team on all financial assumptions used to build P&L forecasts.
Provide perspective on achievability of plans and associated risks.
- Support cross-functional team and senior leadership with ad-hoc financial analyses and data requests.
- Assist in competitor and marketplace analysis.

- Snacks product hierarchyRequirements: - Bachelors Degree, with an Accounting or Finance concentration.
- 3-5 years experience and practical exposure in some of the following roles: Financial Planning and Analysis, Sales Finance, evaluating business performance, Financial Accounting and Control.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Results-oriented with an ability to initiate and lead projects to completion.
- Innovative thinker with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment and gain the cooperation of individuals across the organization.
- Strong foundation in Excel/PowerPoint and the use of information systems and ability to learn/ manipulate systems quickly.
(SAP knowledge desirable).
- Ability to work in a challenging business environment and manage numerous projects and priorities concurrently while meeting strict deadlines.
- Effective influencing skills.
