QUALITY TECHNICIAN Job in West Bridgewater 02379, Massachusetts US
Specialty Catalog Corp., the nation's leading catalog retailer for wigs, hairpieces and fashion accessories is seeking a Quality Technician for our Distribution Center.
Put your quality, continuous improvement and cost effectiveness drive to work in this lean distribution operation so that customer service expectations are achieved and exceeded.JOB SUMMARYResponsible for the inspection, evaluation and documentation of new, refurbished and returned merchandise for fit, workmanship and ensure all packaging conforms to Specialty Catalog Corporation (SCC) standards.
Coordinates corrective action through follow-up with Distribution Center (DC) management, other departments, and/or third-party product correction vendor(s).
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES1.
Reviews new, refurbished and returned merchandise to ensure conformity to SCC packaging and quality standards2 Checks critical points and measurements and fiber/fabric of merchandise using production reports, catalog pictures/copy, lab reports, tape measure and forms/mannequins3 Communicates quality/packaging issues to the management in the DC as well as Merchandising department4 Forwards merchandise samples to the Merchandising department as needed5 Performs or supports special requests such as: Freight Claims, Customer Complaints, and QA Review Requests6 Acts as primary liaison between DC management and applicable SCC departments in determining final disposition and recommending necessary action steps7 Maintains the QA freeze report(s) to make sure there are no outstanding issues8 May transport materials to local locations9 Performs additional quality/accuracy tasks, and special projects as assigned by DC management.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, lift and walk for up to 8 hours or more in a workday.
Repetitive lifting of up to 40 lbs required.
May transport materials to local locations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: 2+ years experience as Inspector/QA Auditor/Technician in a production or distribution environment, experience in wig/garment product specifications and construction preferred.
Commitment to quality, continuous improvement and follow through on corrective actions.
Self-starter; able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with many job levels.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Intermediate knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
Must be able to interpret tape measurements to 1/8 inch.
