QFS - Manager, Life Retail Launch Strategy Job Job in Chicago, Illinois US
DescriptionThe Manager of Life Retail Launch Strategy will be responsible for establishing and executing a winning retail launch plan for the Life brand.
This position will establish the shopper and customer opportunity plan, leveraging shopper insights and category management expertise.
This role will also be responsible for clearly detailing the merchandising and shelving strategy for the Life brand across RTE's and Bars categories.
This role will work very closely with the Life Brand team and field sales teams.
This role will have a shared reporting relationship with sales strategy, category management, and shopper insights.
Initially, the role will report directly to the Director of Shopper Insights, Cat Man, and Shopper Marketing.
The Manager will be accountable for working closely with function leads of category management and shopper insights to uncover and translate actionable, competitively advantaged insights into strategic and tactical recommendations that drive business growth.
Responsibilities: -Provide strategic consultation to the Business and sales teams by being a champion of Shopper mindset and retail and category role in shopper behavior.
Leverage insights to recommend high impact strategies and tactics-Provide ongoing updates as to competitive activity and insights.
Lead the conversation around shopper behavior within and around our categories.
-Work with shopper insights lead to manage base research programs that address core business issues and opportunities (long-term strategic planning, development of retail partnerships, shopper communciation hierarchy, ongoing tracking of business performance and key drivers by customer, shopper programming evaluation)-Leverage category and customer insights to clearly identify business opportunities for the Life brand with products and services.
-Understand and deliver to business teams macro-trend information on Life Categories, Lifestage nutrition, and consumer and retail activity.
Partner with Manager, Shopper Insights to develop a comprehensive situational assessment (including Shopper, customer, government/regulatory and macro-environment trends) that will help predict trends in future marketplace, Shopper, and competitive dynamics-Provide ongoing shopper / retail insights support to Shopper Marketers and Category Management leads in support of (Life) customer engagements and Discovery, Big Bets, Growth Summit process.
-Strategic thought leadership and strategic thinking skills: Demonstrated abilities to identify business issues and opportunities, to influence the business team and help set the strategic agenda; and engage in foresighting-Excellent analytical skills: Demonstrated ability to translate information and data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations-Project management: Proven ability to develop and implement market research plans that effectively address key business questions in a timely and cost-efficient manner-Passion for helping to develop product and services that aid Shoppers in leading healthier, more productive lives-Keen interest in and knowledge of Health and WellnessRequirements: -Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred-5+ years of consumer / shopper insights and category management experience.
-Customer Team experience in Shopper support function a plus-Candidates should possess the following skills: - Strong analytical and problem solving skills- Superior Time and Project Management skills- Powerful Self-Starter with strong teamwork orientation-Strong knowledge of syndicated and panel data (IRI, Nielsen, Spectra, etc.)
