Project Engineer LeaderReports to: Manager Field OperationsJob Objective: The Project Leader is responsible for AMI system deployments to ensure high levels of customer success and satisfaction while carefully managing cost, schedule and performance.

The project leader has demonstrated success with customer project management, establishing working customer relationship and deft interpersonal skills to balance contractual obligations against customer expectations to ensure a successful deployment as measured by timeliness, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate has a proven ability to coordinate the implementation of a wide variety of project activities including; propagation studies, site surveys, billing/back-office system integration, and coordination of product deliveries with manufacturing/operations.

The Project Leader generates and maintains project schedules and budgets and compiles project status reports for periodic management review.

Successful implementation of a wireless AMI system requires intimate knowledge of hardware, software, and information technology systemsand how they interrelate so the Project Leader will draw on his/her technical background extensively to ensure the deployed system meets customer expectations.

It is essential that the PM is highly motivated, self-starting, extremely organized, detail oriented, and possesses outstanding communication and project management skills.

This position also requires a professional demeanor and customer interaction skills.

Ability to work very closely with Engineering, Marketing and Sales insuring the entire deployment is well orchestrated.

Some travel will be required with this position.

Responsibilities: Managing the overall master schedule and budget of assigned Customer projects and activitiesGeneration of detailed project schedule and convene a project kick-off meetingCoordinate all project tasks and resourcesManage 3rd party installation contractors to ensure timely completionBuilding, coordinating and executing project plans with operations, engineering, and sales staff, customers and vendors to ensure completion within budget and schedule constraints while meeting performance requirements.

Providing regular status reporting to internal and external stakeholdersClose coordination with sales/account manager to manage the project within scope and document + gain customer approval on project scope changesGenerate propagation studies ensuring adequate coverage while minimizing back-haul, equipment, and installation costsMay require generation of pole attachment or other similar agreementsSystem integrationUnderstand and capture system interface requirements that satisfy contractural obligations and ensuring customer satisfactionGeneration of System Integration Plan (SIP) that defines the interfaces between AMI and legacy systemsCoordination of internal resources, as required, to complete system integrationFacilitate project acceptance testing and overall project acceptanceTailor system acceptance test plans and execution to customer needs and contractual obligationsGuides system acceptance testing and marshals resources as required to expeditious address any gating issuesJob Specifications: Minimum 5 years directly applicable project leadership position for wireless productsDemonstrated ability to manage programs and projects.

Knowledge of AMI systems desirable but not requiredOverall general Lan/Wan networking knowledge.

Wireless technologies including familiarity of GPRS and RF 915 mHz spread spectrum mesh networking will be helpful.

Associates degree in CS, CE, or EE or equivalentBachelor degree desired but not requiredPMP certification desired but not requiredPassion for achieving customer satisfaction Hands-on, solution-oriented approach to managing complex projects.

Proficient with typical PC office applications, including high degree of proficiency with MSProject.

Able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities.

High quality workmanship and attention to detail are a mustWillingness to travel, estimated to be 25% Excellent written and verbal communications skills
