Program Director - Mt. Laurel, NJ, FT Job in Mount Laurel, New Jersey US
Description PROGRAM DIRECTOR Position overview and Structure The Program Director will oversee a portfolio of projects.
May manage large cross-functional projects when needed.
Will liaise with business partners and actively participate in corporate committees.
Key Accountabilitie
1. Providing project management leadership Ensure project management methodologies are adhered to by all Project Managers Ensures that Project Plans are developed by project managers.
Coach Business Line Project Managers as needed.
Review project plans and milestones.
Follow project plans on a timely basis to ensure deliverables are met by Project Managers.
Ensure project budgets are managed appropriately.
Review and give guidance where necessary on project plan changes.
Ensure identification, sizing and contingency management of project dependencies and business risks have been considered by the Project Manager.
2. Helping to establish Project Management Discipline May represent PMO on various management committees.
Lead development and implementation of project management processes, policies and practices.
Promoting PMO efforts through direct application of program/project management practice.
3. Provide Project Management Knowledge on Major Programs/Projects Work with Project Managers in providing Project Management assistance in developing sound project governance.
Provide Project Managers input on Business Cases and Project Proposals.
Make recommendations on the structure of projects required to satisfy the objectives of a Program.
Assign PMO resources to and oversee Health checks on major programs as required.
Regularly consult and review project progress Develop and manage alliances with internal and external service providers to support the project management discipline.
Knowledge Comprehensive knowledge of the practices, procedures and principles of project management, sufficient to be recognized as a subject area expert with working knowledge and experience involving the following areas: Planning techniques and Life Cycle project management methodologies.
Project change and issue management practices.
Project risk management theory and practices.
Organization and management theory and practice.
Basic accounting and finance.
Basic marketing and product management.
Skills Excellent written communications skills.
Well-developed technical and PC software skills.
Advanced consulting/facilitation skills.
Experience Retail or Commercial Banking experience beneficial.
Minimum 8 years Senior Project Management experience required.
Education Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience Must be working on or have completed Project Management Professional PMP designation/certificate.
