Production Supervisor Job in Friendship 14739, New York US
Supervise a union staff working within the production department.
Communicate and coordinate within the plant including Processing, Production, Maintenance, Quality Control and R&D, Parts, Shipping, Warehousing, Condensing/Drying, Clean up and Office.
Direct and motivate crew members in meeting plant and company objectives.
Provide direct reports with leadership and training.
Follow up on any policy or procedural issues.
Insure accuracy on daily production reporting and that production meets Quality and Labor Standards.
Coordinate with the warehouse on what items are needed for the production lines.
Coordinate with the maintenance department on line repairs and to achieve line reliability.
Support Safety and Quality processes through daily personnel compliance and follow up. Attend daily product audits to insure product conformance.
Organization and utilization of materials, machinery and personnel for greatest efficiency.
Develop personnel to the maximum extent of their ability, while maintaining team morale.
Carry out corporate GMP.'s, personnel and safety policies while maintaining correct discipline with in the plant.
Ensure good hygiene is maintained within the plant areas.
Provide time to associates for line process improvement teams, safety observations, or time for any established process improvement.
Ensure that equipment is maintained in safe and proper condition by the maintenance department by notifying them of problems.
Make management aware of changes to procedures that would result in better quality and performance of the entire operation.
Will support and carry out responsibilities related to food safety and quality as required by regulatory requirements and plant food safety and quality programs, including SQF and 3rd party audit programs.
Train department employees in food safety and quality procedures.
Conduct daily food safety inspections in department.
Develop SOP's to include food safety and quality responsibilities.Job Requirements: High School degree or equivalent with two or four years of higher education Five to eight years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience Exceptional leadership skills Effective Management skills Basic computer skills Must be adaptable and flexible 3 years working experience working in dairy food manufacturing Dean Foods Company is an Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Employer.
