Product Development Specialist Job in Job location not provided
Our client is a property and casualty carrier providing insurance primarily for small businesses, such as restaurants, apartments, auto repair shops, and night clubs.
They presently offer opportunities to join their organization in their CA operation and potentially in a remote capacity.
They seek a Product Development professional who have experience with creating and filing rates with the state of CA for new insurance products and for modified insurance products already in existence.
Also have experience preparing and filing forms with the state insurance dept.
And also offer the actuarial skills necessary to determine the rates.
At the same time someone who has commercial P & C underwriting experience and is able to interact well with other departments (MIS, marketing, underwriting, claims, etc.).Product Development Specialist ResponsibilitiesCollecting and analyzing data from all available resources to monitor and ensure adequacy and competitiveness of premium rates, rules, and forms;Coordinating and communicating with Claims, Legal, Underwriting, and MIS departments in designing new products and updating existing products; reviewing and evaluating proposals;Preparing, submitting, and obtaining approval of regulatory rate, rule, and form filings; ensuring compliance with statutory filing requirements; communicating clearly and professionally with insurance regulators;Working with the MIS Department to promote the accurate implementation of new and/or updated products; maintaining and updating their computerized rating systems;Product Development Specialist RequirementsUndergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related.
MBA desirable.
A minimum of two years of commercial property/casualty insurance work experience, including the areas of product development and regulatory compliance filings;Detail oriented; proficiency in analyzing data; strong reading comprehension;The ability to work independently with minimal assistance or supervision;Good verbal and written communication skills;Math and personal computer skills, especially Microsoft Word and Excel;The ability to accurately diagnose, analyze, and solve problems.
