Product Development Engineer Job in Leeds, Alabama US
Product Development Engineer Hubbell Power Systems Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) is a leader in the manufacture and distribution of a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation, OEM and telecommunications products used by utilities.
In addition, HPS products are used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.
Products include construction and switching products, tools, insulators, arresters, pole line hardware, cable accessories, connectors, test equipment, transformer bushings and polymer precast enclosures and equipment pads.
HPS recognized brands include Anderson, Chance, CDR, Delmar, Electro Composites, Hipotronics, Hubbell Cable Accessories, Fargo, Ohio Brass, PCORE, Polycast, Quazite and USCO with combined service to customers for more than 100 years with quality, innovative products.
Currently HPS has an opening in their Leeds, AL facility, located minutes outside of Birmingham, for a Product Development Engineer.
The qualified candidate will possess the following: The qualified candidate will possess 1(+) year of mechanical/electrical engineering experience with prior experience in power transmission or related industry strongly preferred.
As a Product Development Engineer you will be prototyping and designing new connectors for the transmission, substation, and distribution power utility grid.
You will be working with a cross-functional team to accomplish launching multiple new projects per year.
Requirements: BSME or BSEE required, 1(+) year of prior engineering design experience, AutoCAD, Unigraphics NX, SolidEdge, Nastran experience a big plus.
Foreign language skills are a plus as well.
Ability to relocate in future for promotion is preferred.
Travel: Up to 25%.
